CALL FOR ACTION MUBENDE/

The rampant increases in the number of women that die while in labour in Mubende Regional Referral Hospital has caused tension among the various leaders thus call for action.
This call for action was raised by the women Member of Parliament Nalongo Benny Bugembe during a meeting held at prime rose hotel in Mubende were various district leaders and medical practitioners ion convened to find a solution for the mortality rate.
According to the report presented by the area women member of parliament for Mubende Nalongo Benny Bugembe it reveals that Mubende Regional Referral Hospital is ranking highest when it comes to the numbers of women and children that die during the labour process.
The hospital administrator for Mubende Regional Referral Hospital Dr Nkuluziza Edward explained that its true there is an increase in the number of women that die in a labour but some of the causes are beyond their control such as lack of enough staff, less and inadequate finances to cater hospital expenses and late distribution of the drugs and equipments.
Nkuluziza further more added that despite the fact that Mubende regional referral hospital has been provided with new structure and equipment it is still under staffed it’s supposed to have 39 qualified doctors but currently has 12.
The Chairman for health and education committee Hon. Sebuma Jackson Zikyalinto further explained that most women in the villages lack support from their husband like lack of essential needs for example maama kits and clothing while some women move long distances before reaching the health centres by the time they access help it’s too late that they end up losing their lives.
According to the leaders in Mubende People have been complaining that Hearth workers in Mubende Hospital now their asking for money to the Women around 250,000 – 300,000 and if Women do not pay that money no help will be given to at the end of the day this person will die.
