The king of Toro Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru has survived a road accident, in which two of his royal guards have died and six other people injured.
The Accident occurred at Namagogo, about two kilometers from Mubende town on the Kampala Mubende Highway on Sunday evening.
Mugera Francis, a student at Mubende National teachers college who witnessed the accident said the driver of the double cabin pick up with number plate of Royal kingdom which was carrying royal guards lost control and the vehicle went off the road.
Mugerwa says the driver was trying to dodge a boda-boda cyclist who was crossing the road.
Two UPDF soldiers died instantly, when the double cabin pick up hit a tree after going off the road.
Police identified the two as Cherop K Alex and Mulindwa Alex both UDPF soldiers.
Six people survived with deep injuries and were admitted in Mubende hospital.
Two of them were immediately referred to Mulago as their conditions were worsening.
Among the victims still at Mubende was Otemo Samson Sonny Otemo a UPDF soldier, Balinde Francis a UPDF Soldier and Nteziyaremye Innocent.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to the Mubende hospital mortuary from where they were released to the officials of the Toro kingdom on Sunday night.
Mubende district police commander Abaine Enoch confirmed the accident and said the king had not received any injuries.
The king later continued to Kampala in his Toyota Land cruiser with personalized number plate of the royal kingdom without the escorts.
