The Mubende Resident District Commissioner has cautioned the
politicians in Mubende district against politicising land issues that
is putting the lives of the people in danger.

RDC Beyunga Florence expressed this during a meeting with the
residents whose houses were set ablaze held at Bukoba village in
Nalutuntu Sub County in Mubende district

Beyunga explained that;” politicians in this area are using
opportunity of land wrangles in this area by manipulating them with
ideas that put their lives at stake. Politicians should always be
vigilant about what is happening in their communities but also
conscious about the word and actions they take.”

“Sometimes the words used by politicians incite violence, while others
end up suffering for example why would a politician offer people with
bow and arrows?  Once people begin killing each other you will be held
responsible. Let government play its role in protecting her citizens.”
Beyunga added

Beyunga explained that;”please calm down because all your issues are
being worked upon and all the people who were involved in this crime
will be apprehended and charged accordingly.”

Kagaba Erick the district councillor for Nalutuntu sub county Mubende
district explained that;” on several occasions we have reported to
police they have refused to help us. The various cattle owners in this
area a proving to be untouchables which make us believe that the
security agencies really support their activates thus having a hand in
our suffering. ”

“Permit us to buy bow and arrows so that we shoot who ever we find
suspicious in our community.”Kagaba lamented

Byakatonda Aarouzious the chair person Bukoba village explained that;”
it really beats my understanding why the security agencies are quick
to react when someone steals a goat or a cow but very reluctant when
it comes protecting people’s lives. Are some people above the law? We
have all have provided all the possible evidence to pin down the
people that burnt our houses but no action has been taken.”

“We are now in misery where we lack food, clothing, and shelter and
are our children are likely to suffer from diseases government should
really intervene to save us.” Byakatonda added.
