Seven people who were recently arrested for allegedly attacking a businessman in defense of their land in Kassanda have been charged for malicious damage to property, before sending them on remand at Muyinayina Prison Farm.

The brief facts in the main Suit No: 92/2017 C/S 335{1} of 2017 are that the respondents committed the offence on 10th .Feb 2017 at Nsololo, Mannyogasseka parish in Kassanda Sub County, Mubende district attacking a one Kwesiiga Dickens, leaving him nursing injuries after burning his vehicle Premier Reg No UAX 130H.

Makumbi Abubaker, Katsigazi Roman, Katsigazi Alex, Muganda Kenneth, Baruku Honali and Birikunzira Stephen appeared before Magistrate Irene Namaye who remanded them pending investigations.

Prosecution team is expected to produce more witnesses pinning the accused.

The embattled land Block 339 Plot 2 and 15 amounts to 1.5 miles according to defense council led by Council Fatuma Nakitto;was not under the ownership of princes Nambi Ndagire who then illegally sold it to Mr Kwesiga Dickens. The number now comes to 10 people arrested over the same land and on similar charges following the arrest of Lukeberwa Muhad the LC I chairperson of Nsololo Village, Edward Ssemanda and Ssemyaba Charles all residents of Nsololo.
